eat words快到了嘴边儿,
于是你就真的跑偏了。。。
那样eat words是Chinglish吗？其实不然：
eat one's words
是指事实证明之前说过的话是不对的，
承认自己犯过的错，收回自己所说的话，
有一丝被动+歉意在里面。
例：Alex had to eat his words, after he saw what he said was totally wrong.
那样食言在英文中应当怎么样表达呢？
Break one's word
是指之前承诺过的事情没做到，
没履行我们的诺言。
例：If you promise to do it, you mustn't break your word.
此外，还有什么word的表达呢？
take back one's words 收回前言，承认错误
swallow one's words 收回前言，承认错误
go back on one's word 食言
keep one's word 诚信
hold one's word 诚信
true to one's word 守约
